Bite Matte Creme Lip Crayon: Swatches and Review

I am on a roll with lip products lately, and Bite Matte Creme Lip Crayons are at the top of my list. They even edge out NARS Audacious lipsticks, with a slightly longer wear time and a more comfortable feel on the lips.

I have a few different versions, but they all come in a twist up pencil form. They smell amazing- a light fresh orange scent.

Lola and Sophie were Jcrew exclusives. Grape was a color from the first release. The last four are all from the second release of colors, and should still be available at Sephora.

Lola, Sophie, and Grape are all extremely bright. Peche is a semi bright color, but not as neon as the other brights. Glace, Leche, and Amaretto are all understated neutrals.

Wear time is between 4-8 hours, and the brights leave behind a nice stain. These feel moisturizing on my lips and are very comfortable to wear even though they are matte. The pencil form makes them easy to apply.

Bite Matte Lip Crayons are perfect! They have a great range of colors with an excellent formula. The convenient packaging is one of my favorites.

Shiseido Floracouture Eyeshadow Trio: Swatches and Review

Shiseido eyeshadow trios always catch my attention with their unusual color combinations. Floracouture has a striking theme- rich burgundy purple, sunny orange, and light shimmering pink.

The colors have the usual buttery smoothness that I have come to expect from this brand. The orange isn't quite as smooth or pigmented as the other two, but that turns out to be perfect upon application.

Floracouture has more contrast between the shades than my other Shiseido trios. This is perfect for a complete eye look.

I used the pink on my lid, the orange in the crease, and the purple in the outer corners. I have been using this trio very regularly! It is an easy way to bring a bit of fall color into my look, and it really compliments blue eyes.

I highly recommend Shiseido Floracouture. It is an unusual combination that has become an instant favorite for me.

NARS Audacious Lipstick: Swatches and Review

NARS has a brand new lipstick formula, and I am a big fan. Audacious lipsticks have full coverage, a satin finish, and a beautiful range of colors. The packaging is a heavy metal rectangle with a magnetic closure.

It does show fingerprints easily, but the overall feeling is much more robust than the older lipstick packaging. The above picture will help you know if you have OCD or not. The magnetic closure either repels or attracts the other tubes.

I have a beautiful lipstick rainbow of neutrals along with a couple bolder colors.

These swatches were mostly one swipe only. They are full coverage without being too heavy. The formula does well on healthy lips but isn't quite as forgiving on dry lips. Make sure you start with moisturized and exfoliated lips.

The wear time is between 4-6 hours depending on the shade. No bleeding or uneven fading.

I have a few full face pictures to share, which usually help give a better idea of the color.

I am totally loving NARS Audacious lipsticks! I have been wearing them non-stop for the past month, and I am so happy with the formula and color range.

Wet N Wild Smoke and Melrose Palette: Swatches and Review

I am moving from an expensive disappointment (Chanel Poesie), to bargain success. I love ending August on a good note!

Smoke and Melrose is part of the Wet N Wild fall collection. I hadn't planned to look for these new palettes, but the color scheme got me. I love mauve!

Inside are five different shades with somewhat odd placement suggestions. You can't tell me what to do Wet N Wild.

The colors are amazing! All of them have great pigmentation, and there are a variety of finishes. None of them are overly frosty or shimmery either.

The main comparison that popped into my head was Urban Decay Naked 3. It has a similar color theme- pink toned neutrals.

Urban Decay Dust has much more shimmer than the light pink Wet N Wild shade. Urban Decay Burnout is more shimmery and pink than the Wet N Wild. Urban Decay Limit is lighter than the matte mauve Wet N Wild shade, but Nooner is pretty close.

Urban Decay Trick is similar to the Wet N Wild peach color, but much more sheer.

The Wet N Wild taupe is less shimmery and more brown than Urban Decay Liar. Urban Decay Mugshot is cooler toned than the Wet N Wild taupe shade. The Wet N Wild burgundy color is not similar to Urban Decay Blackheart.

Here is a look with Wet N Wild Smoke and Melrose. I used NARS Love blush and Rikugien Satin Lip Pencil.

I am absolutely in love with this Wet N Wild palette! It has a beautiful color combination with excellent quality. I already have a backup with plans to hoard more.

Lancome Olive Amour Palette: Swatches, Review, and Look

I haven't tried a Lancome palette in years- probably before the new palette design. I always have a spot in my heart for the brand though, since it was the first higher end brand that I purchased with my own money.

The packaging of Lancome palettes are very sleek, with a simple rose on the corner.

Olive Amour has an unexpected pairing of golden olive and jewel toned purples.

All of the colors have shimmer, and the olive color on the right has some sparkle.

The colors are so soft and full of pigment. If I had one tiny criticism, I would say that this palette needs a matte color for depth.

The colors work really well together, creating a smoky olive combination. The purple adds a tiny bit of brightness to keep things fresh.

I don't own a ton of purple or olive shades, but here are a couple for comparison:

Rouge Bunny Rouge Abyssianian Catbird is more bronze than Olive Amour. Dior Constellation is more sheer and sparkly.

Here is a look with the palette using all of the colors. Both olive colors are layered on my lid, the lighter purple is in my crease, and the cream color is on my inner corners. I used the deep purple on my lower lash line. My lip color is Bite Sophie matte lip crayon, which is a Jcrew exclusive color.

I am very pleased with my first Lancome palette! Olive Amour is exactly what I will be reaching for this fall, and I will be looking for more colors to try soon.
