Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette: Swatches and Review

What's that? You want to see more awesomely bright colors from Sugarpill? Okay.....

Burning Heart is a fiery palette of shades not for the faint hearted.

The names of the shades are perfect, as well as the combination of colors.

Giant pans housed in a heavy mirrored cardboard compact- they are almost too beautiful to touch......almost.

The shades are all matte in this palette. Flamepoint is a vibrant orange. Buttercupcake is a rich yellow. Love+ is a primary red. Poison Plum is a red violet.

These mattes are rich and full of pigment. They deposit color without patchiness or chalkiness and blend smoothly.

If you are feeling bold and love color, Sugarpill Burning Heart is surely for you!

Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette: Swatches and Review

Sugarpill has a brand new four pan palette of beautiful brights.

Heart Breaker comes in a heavy cardboard palette with turquoise and grey art on the front.

The back has a pretty girl and her kitty, as well as the names of the colors in the palette.

The pans are gigantic and the colors are vibrant! Sugarpill is known for bright colors, and for good reason.

Acidberry is a neon lime. Velocity is an intense royal blue. 2am is a red toned purple with subtle blue shimmer. Mocha is a lovely mint with silver shimmer.

I am really enjoying the combination of colors in Heart Breaker. The shadows are smooth and easy to build. They can give a soft wash of color, or be built for vibrancy. I love the adorable packaging as well. Overall, Heart Breaker is a gorgeous palette!

Here is a look I did using Velocity and Mochi from the palette. I also used Suagrpill Tako and Bulletproof.

Emerald Pretty FOTD

Tarina Tarantino- color me impressed! I gave in to temptation and ordered the Emerald Pretty palette recently. Word of warning, this palette is huge! Think the palm of your hand or a bit bigger. The colors are all beautiful- full of pigment, gorgeously shimmery.

Revlon Lip Butters vs. Balm Stains Throwdown

 

I decided that is might be helpful to swatch my Revlon Lip Butters next to my new love, the Balm Stains. I still like Butters, but they need a clear balm or some gloss to prevent my lips from drying. Balm Stains are less glossy feeling on the lips, but they leave a long lasting stain. They are also more hydrating than the Lip Butters.

Here are a butt load of swatches.......

 

 

Creme Brulée is a sheer nude color. Charm is a light pinkish peach. Creamsicle is a pastel baby peach color.

 

Sugar Frosting is a nearly clear mauve pink. Honey is a warm light pink. Berry Smoothie is a sheer light raspberry.

 

Gumdrop is a pastel lilac. Darling is a cool light pink. Cherish is an almost identical light Barbie pink. Strawberry Shortcake is another cool pink color.

 

Rendezvous is a bright orange coral. Tutti Frutti is a sheer orange.

 

Sweet Tart is a neutral hot pink. Lovesick is a light fuchsia. Smitten is a more intense fuchsia color. Lollipop is a blue toned hot pink with a touch of shimmer.

 

Raspberry Pie is an intense berry color. Crush is a slightly more sheer berry. Romantic is a sheer warm brick red. Red Velvet is a warm berry red color.

I hope these comparisons will help you in your quest for the grail, or lip products at least.

 

Chanel Magnolia Rouge Coco Swatches and FOTD

Sneaky little Chanel released a tiny micro collection consisting of three Rouge Cocos and three Rouge Coco Shines. I knew I had to get Magnolia, a shade I had missed out on before.

Magnolia is a neutral, leaning slightly cool, light pink. It isn't light enough to be called a nude, just a nice MLBB (my lips but better). It has a shimmer particles in the tube, but I don't find them apparent on the lips.

Chintz is a peachy pink. Charme appears identical in my swatch, but it is cooler toned and slightly deeper. Charme also has a more pronounced shimmer on the lips.

Here is Magnolia on my face. I used Chanel Misty- Soft duo on my eyes along with MAC Blacktrack to line. Rose Ecrin Joues Contraste provides a neutral pink cheek. I used all of my usual base products, which you can find if you click on the FOTD tag to the side.

I will just say that I am loving Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation right now! I am using the shade Buff. It gives light coverage and a smooth finish. I have been setting it with Sephora Microsmooth Powder Foundation, and it lasts beautifully all day. It can tend to settle into dry patches, so use caution if you have problem areas.

 

 

Magnolia is a great everyday pink that I will be wearing often!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain: Swatches and Review

Just when you thought titles couldn't get longer, I present you with Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. Thankfully the color names are short and sweet.

These balms come in a giant twist up plasric tube with a silver end cap. The color of the tube matches the color inside, which is extremely handy.

I liked the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters, but with some reservations. The lip butters were slightly drying, and the lighter colors highlighted dryness and imperfections. Not Balm Stains! (Click here to see my swatches of Balm Stains compared to Lip Butters.)

The Balm Stains are moisturizing on my lips. They have a slight gloss that fades in the first hour. The stain lasts quite a long time, along with a low gloss finish. The darker colors provide the longest lasting stain, but the lighter ones provide nice color as well.

On the lips, some of the colors are very similar. Darling and Cherish are close, and Lovesick and Smitten look alike too.

I wiped my arm lightly with a tissue to show some of the stain left behind:

I am so pleased with the Revlon Balm Stains! They have less slip and gloss than the Lip Butters, but they provide hydration and a beautiful stain. Highly recommended!
